Age-Friendly Home Living Lab
The Innovation Engine for Age-Friendly Living
Unlike laboratories that generally conduct tests in controlled environments, the Living Lab process collects testing feedback from potential users in real home settings. This approach enables developers to accurately understand user needs and develop innovative products that truly cater to older adults.
The Age-Friendly Home Living Lab brings together a diverse group of stakeholders — including academia, research institutions, NGOs, industry experts, and potential users — and embraces the principle of “User-Driven – Experience-Focused” to advance gerontechnology and age-friendly product development, building safer, more comfortable, and barrier-free homes for older adults.
Why the Age-Friendly Home Living Lab?
With the rapid ageing of the population, the market has driven continuous innovation and advanced age-friendly products, yet many often fall short of meeting the real needs of older adults. This is precisely why the Age-Friendly Home Living Lab emphasises user involvement at every stage of the product development cycle, helping developers create more down-to-earth and practical solutions that genuinely support ageing in place.
Bridge the gap between age-friendly product concepts and the real needs of older adults, ensuring solutions are relevant and practical
Accelerate the development of age-friendly products
Promote innovation through diverse and inclusive product development
Effectively support ageing in place and active ageing for older adults
